Feeling stressed after a long day? Have aching muscle pain? Coming down with the flu? Then indulge in Essential Oils.

Essential Oils are concentrated extracts from plant material used in aromatherapy, a worldwide phenomenon for relieving stress and other health related problems. Essential Oils come in a variety of different types including Sage, Geranium, Lemon, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sandalwood and Tea Tree. Three of the most common essential oils, Eucalyptus, Lavender and Jasmine, are described in detail below.

Ease Away with Pain with Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus, a pale yellow oil, is one of the most common kinds of essential oil because of its diverse usage. Eucalyptus can relieve the symptoms of several different ailments, from your aching head to your tired toes. There are over 200 different kinds of Eucalyptus trees. However, most essential oil is distilled from the Australian Eucalyptus globules or radiata variety. The woody aroma is known for its stimulating yet balancing effect.

Eucalyptus oil is most commonly used to relieve muscle aches and pain, poor circulation, rheumatoid arthritis, sprains and anything else that causes pain to your limbs and joints. However, it can also relieve throat and lung conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, coughs, colds and other throat infections. Many people also choose eucalyptus oil to relieve their sinus aches, headaches and flu symptoms. Some people even recommend eucalyptus essential oils for the chicken pox and herpes. Other skin conditions eucalyptus is used on include burns, blisters, cuts, insect bits and skin wounds.

Re-Juvenate with Jasmine

Jasmine, another popular type of essential oil, is often considered an aphrodisiac. Known as “woman’s oil”, jasmine is delicately extracted form plants grown in Asia and Africa and emits a floral and exotic aroma. Although Jasmine can be quite expensive, many believe the benefits are most certainly worth it.

Jasmine is most commonly used to combat against depression, nervousness, exhaustion and stress. It is suggested that jasmine produces optimism, confidence and euphoria. Another common use of jasmine is for relieving coughs, laryngitis, hoarseness and other throat-related problems. If you are suffering from dry, greasy, irritated or sensitive skin, jasmine may be the cure. People also use jasmine for relieving the pains of childbirth and increasing the libido.

Release Tension with Lavender

Lavender is an extremely versatile therapeutic essence. This is probably why it’s so popular. Lavender is clear with a yellow tinge and emits a fresh and sweet smell. The almost fruity aroma is considered calming and therapeutic on those extra-stressful days.

Lavender can be used to combat nervous systems disorders such as depression, headaches, hypertensions and insomnia. However, it can also help with stress-related issues like vertigo, PMT and shock. Some people also use lavender as a treatment for acne and athletes foot.

So no matter what you’re suffering from, breathe in the refreshing aromas of essential oil and take the natural approach to feeling better.
